KURT VILE: We ran into every other on the road in more than a few continents and talked in regards to the recordings. I suppose it wasn’t until i had some other tour booked for the next summer in Australia that we thought we must record up to we will be able to, no major goal to make it an entire length however it came in combination that approach for the reason that vibe was once so robust. I like working with Courtney, the collaboration was once laid back with less pressure. COURTNEY BARNETT: Now we finished the album, we dreamt up a fantastic band which we’ve referred to as THE SEA LICE (inspired by a Stella Mozgawa beach-side-story) and me n Kurt shall be standing there out front with our guitars making a song songs in combination. Songs from this album we did, a handful of our own songs from previous albums, perhaps a few old folk songs n what now not. Harmonies and guitarmonies galore. Very collaborative. Lotta Sea Lice is the results of 8 days within the studio spread over almost 15 months when Courtney and Kurt’s respective touring schedules allowed for them to be in the similar place on the same time.
